Some members may remember James Williamson.

There is an MTB event in his memory. James also raced road in his time with us.

James Williamson Enduro Challenge 2012
Four hundred riders have registered for the next James Williamson Enduro Challenge, Wingello State Forest, Sunday March 11 2012. With entry numbers capped at 600, there are only two hundred positions left, so tell your friends, and don’t miss out.

We have noted your comments from 2011 and made changes wherever possible. The course will remain similar to 2011, with a few extra hills thrown in on the first lap, to avoid congestion on the single track. Presentation times will be brought forward, the coffee machine will be bigger and we are ramping up activities for the

Saturday night (for campers) while keeping all the great characteristics of the first James Williamson Enduro Challenge. Full details of the race are at www.jameswilliamson.com/enduro. Start lists have been published on the website, with updates weekly until March 11th. Check to make sure you are listed in the correct category. If there are any problems, contact us using the enquiry facility via the website.

James Williamson Enduro Fund
In keeping with the aim to use race profits in support of junior mountain bikers, the first James Williamson Junior Development Camp was held in Canberra on November 2011. Twenty two juniors from both the Southern Highlands and Canberra clubs were taught by coaches Niki Fisher, Dylan Cooper, Shaun Lewis and Jenni King. The feedback received from the riders was overwhelmingly positive and has given us much motivation to do it all again. We are all very proud to be part of building a legacy for James Williamson and we know he would be proud of the work we are doing. (Image bottom page)

As well, the James Williamson Enduro Fund has contributed $A1000 to help fund a small bike track for the Ceres Primary School in South Africa. James died while taking part in the Cape Epic MTB event, while the race was camped on the school oval at Ceres. A memorial plaque for James has been placed on a seat overlooking the oval.

The fund has also purchased a new generator for the Southern Highlands Cycling Club, in recognition for the many hours of work that Southern Highlands’ volunteers contribute for the annual race.

BTW, I've entered and will be taking the bike-transporter-truck. Anyone care to join me?
For people not doing Milto's Jindabyne w/e or the Riverina series, this race would be a good endurance sharpener.

Just got an email from the Willo Enduro organisers. Just 30 places left until they reach their 600 entry cut off.
See: http://jameswilliamson.com.au/enduro/the-race/start-lists/

There are quite a few Canberra riders going down and it should be a good solid hit out before people have a bit of 2 wheeled fun at the Mont 2 weeks later!

The web-site says that the track is open for practise on Sat, with camping a food being available at race HQ.

I'm heading down in the Monster bike transporter and am happy to leave early Sun, or alternatively Sat lunchtime with the view of doing a practise lap/s and camping overnight (BYO tent etc).

Anyone interested in sharing transport, drop me a PM.
