Mountain bike East Kowan Forest 31/12

Come and join a few of us for a dirt ride to celebrate the end of the year.

Will be a friendly ride that will be on the smooth flowing trails of sparrow hill and East Kowan forest. Some come along even if you have never ridden on the dirt. You never know you might like it.

If you need a bike then let me know via pm and we will see what we can sort out.

I am sure there will be some carpooling to drive out there.

Meet at the Sparrow carpark (details below) 7:30am. Cafe afterwards will be at Rodney's pialligo. Should be about a 2:30 ride by the time we do a lap or two.

Please post if you are planning on coming especially if you need a lift.


The carpark is on the right on the way out of town and is 11.5km from the Red rooster/spotlight roundabout in queanbeyan.

Sounds great - I'd love to come along! Been meaning to get out that way for a while, it's lovely riding there and I haven't been on the MTB since I did Raynie's beginner course earlier this year.

This sounds like fun. Santa delivered early to my place this year - a spiffy new Trek 29er. Time to get it dirty!

I made it out there today, an absolutely glorious day for a ride. The trail builder was out on the 20km loop at Sparrow - apparently by next week it will be a 27km loop.

Sadly, I think I've overdrawn my leave pass :( Think I'll try for a quick ride closer to home on Saturday instead. Enjoy!

I was planning on doing the 50km Capital Punishment loop plus riding to/from home (so about 80km all up) but if I don't get a response from some of my boys, I might come join you guys instead as haven't said g'day for a while... Also, need to pick up my jersey off you too sometime!

Enjoyable ride this morning Milto, 'A' and Linda...

I will be riding the 50km Capital Punishment loop on Monday 2nd Jan leaving my house in Fisher at 7.30am.. going via Deakin Shops (say be ready by 7.55am for 8am departure from Deakin Shops), and then on to Russell, doing the 50km Capital Punishment ride (maybe not doing too much of Stromlo as one of my friends doesn't like Stromlo) and then back to my house for BBQ afterwards... Anyone welcome and family welcome for BBQ if you are interested.
