Cycling Kit for (tall) 6 year girl

Hi all,

My 6 year old daughter, Ruby, loves to ride. Yesterday we rode 12 kms to her grandparents place (Derek and Angela) from my place. We were going to get a lift home but Ruby insisted on riding home. In all she racked up 24kms yesterday!

I am guessing it may be time to get her something a bit more comfortable to wear rather than the jodhpurs and gym boots she currently rides in.

Does anyone know where I can get hold of cycling shoes (mtb preferred) and knicks to fit a very tall 6 year old? I think she wears between size 12 and 1 shoes and size 8 clothes. She is growing so fast that I don't really want to fork out too much for cycling shoes so I am looking for good second hand ones. I'm happy to get new knicks and top, any suggestions for nice kit for young girls?

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Milto, I will let you know how I go with the shoes and hand them down when outgrown (if I can get some in the first place). How old is your kid/s?

Mine are 3 and 5 but small for their age.

Definitely not ready for bike shoes yet though.

I dropped a couple of items to a committee member at a SuperCrit a few weeks ago, Bec. Maybe to GSav or Jane? It was a Thialtra and an ANU green jersey, I think.

What size is she (feel free to send me a PM)? I have a world of spare MTB and Road cycling clothes and shoes too. I'm a size 39 (roughly a size 7 womens) so will only fit if she is a bit tall.....
