Although a taboo topic, I'll risk the neg rep. Some great tips when dealing with the less than glamorous side of road racing.

Big thumbs up on the pantyhose trick, I recommend clear-coat polish w/ sparkles.

Hope you heal up well Mikey. I'd also recommend, once the wound is dry, to apply Dermeze to keep it moist. I did this recently after my last fall and the wound has healed remarkably well compared to those I just left to dry after most of the healing was done. With the Opsite Flexigrid (or equivalent) and Dermeze after, a scab never appeared and the flesh just went a nice rosey pink before healing almost to an unseen mark on the hip. You can get Dermeze at most pahrmacies.

I know that Discount at Gowrie and Macquarie can make you an equivalent. It's basically silicon oil and pertoleum jelly.
