Please note the course has changed due to poor road conditions on Discovery Drive. The majority of the course will remain the same. Discovery Drive has recently been resurfaced where potholes existed, however, due to recent traffic and weather conditions the resurfacing has deteriorated and the road remains too dangerous for racing on.
Revised courses:
Men’s A, B and C and women’s A - The start and finish for this race is at the intersection of Paddys River Road, Tidbinbilla Road and Discovery Drive. The races begins with riders proceeding along Tidbinbilla Road and before to the turnaround just before the descent into the Point Hut intersection. Riders then head north to the turn at Flints Reserve Crossing before proceeding back along Paddys River Road for the completion of one lap. Riders will complete two laps for an approx 62 kilometre race.
Men’s D and E and Women’s B and C - The start and finish for this race is at the intersection of Paddys River Road, Tidbinbilla Road and Discovery Drive. The races begins with riders proceeding north along Paddys River Road to the turn at Flints Reserve Crossing before proceeding back along Paddys River Road for the completion of a half lap. Rider will then rider along Tidbinbilla Road before to the turnaround just before the descent into the Point Hut intersection. Riders then head north to the turn at Flints Reserve Crossing before proceeding back along Paddys River Road for the completion the race. Rider will complete one and a half laps for an approx 40 kilometer race.
Details:
• Racing will commence at 8.30am on Saturday, 9 April 2011.
• Registration will open at 8.00am and close at 8:25am.
• Entry is $5 if you have a Permanent Race Number and Times-7 RFID Tag. Entry for members who do not have permanent numbers/RFID Tags will be $15
• The Times-7 RFID Timing system will be used. Don’t forget to bring both your permanent race number and RFID Tag.
• Riders must have a current Cycling Australia licence.
