Apparently this is what it takes to get a short news grab on Australian news channels, they showed the crash over and over.

And isn't he just coming back after one?
Here's the clip. Cavendish is being pilloried around the internet for this one, rightly, it seems: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRFh9GuLYbs. Cav swings across the road one way then in the final kick swings back across the front of the Milram rider, slamming into Haussler who rides the bump, then dropping his bike underneath him.

His wheel is really non UCI legal!

Watching the replayz it does look like Cav came across but it was a pretty ugly sprint by a few riders - Haussler came across in front of Ciolek too. Just quietly, how good was Haussler's sprint looking! I reckon Cav was about to get touched up there - if not by Haussler then by someone else - seemed to lack his usual dominance.

He was sprinting in a straight diagonal line! What's the problem with that?

Now that's what I call a flat!

I wonder if Cav's wheel was one of the new era sub kilo wheelsets, at the first hint of non-lateral force it just crumbles....

Surely they wouldn't put the sprinters on those though - they must get a fair whack of flex in their sprint alone - shawly!

To the wheel's credit, it sprung back into shape after that.

woah, i did not think that carbon rims could flex to that extent and still pop back to shape afterwards

yes, there are a lot of us who can relate to this picture. For cyclists this is the equivalent to death and taxes.

Apparently Cavendish spat at Hauseler after the crash, pretty low!!!
'The riders staged a brief protest at the start of today's stage to send a message to Cavendish not only for causing the crash, but for reacting to criticism by spitting at Haussler (an incident McEwen did not himself witness).'

Yikes, you can take the lad out of the country but not the country out of the lad.
His marketing manager has a pretty tough job!

Same goes for Harry Kewell, it seems, judging from this quote. You can take the bogan out of the country... "Youse are all supposed to be on our team and it's a shame that youse are all having a go at us."
