Seeing as it's Good Friday, is the Pickle closed? (A chance to prove yourself ET). I can't remember what we did last year.

Norman is the name for the VCC bunch ride - happens Fridays 6am from ANU bridge near concourse, just down from pickle pickle. Col of bunches - fast, medium & in summer novice bunch.

It's definitely not named after the ABC radio quiz, though the reverse may be true.

My memory tells me the Bakery Cafe. Can anyone back this up?

It is usually open public holidays, so that would be our best bet.

Will be using in the usual route? Or extending to lake George, as we have occasionally in the past.

I think it should be the same time since there may be people rocking up expecting a ride (and nothing was mentioned last week).

We could always phone them and see if they'd be willing to open early for 20+ customers?
(Feel free to tell me I'm dreaming)

I'm dreamin, for some reason the cafe doesn't want to open before 8?? Actually he would but he can't cause most of his staff uses public transport and can't get there on a PH before 8.
So, are we dumping breakfast or extending the ride and if so where too? As appealing as Northbound on Federal sounds how about adding a couple tack-on's instead? Normal flat Norman + Reverse Gallop + Red Hill?
Thoughts?

If the yarralumla bakery is open we could do our normal route, spin round and do a reverse gallop then wind up at bakery cafe for some frosty, if not caffienated treats.

I just spoke to Velo Republic in Kingston and they would love to open the doors early for us @ 7:30. It'll be limited food ie; bannana bread, muffins, toast, fruit salad but the coffee's are $3 and they don't normally open till 8 so we'd have the joint to ourselves till then. We could keep the Norman the same and just keep rollin to Kingston after Lennox.

I'll be out for the ride but not for breakfast unfortunately :(.

Maybe even sneak in a turn on the front eh Rossco? it'll be a morning of firsts!
Let's not get too carried away there, Jamie!
Though I did take out the Palmerston KOM this morning on the ride back home! :tongue_smilie:
I guess you and Hoopsnake knew you were no match so detoured away quietly to avoid embarrassment.
The Velo cafe/bike shop was interesting, good service and some nice bike bling as well.

I seem to remember riding the Flemmo Robaiux entirely by myself, with about as much respite from Rossco, Jez and Thaller than from a normal Friday ride.
I rode through the folk festival too, and most those kids had stronger turns in their legs than the afore mentioned.

I won't argue that, given the smashfest I put myself through this morning.. I cramped up hard when I stood up to contest the KOFF* too
(False Flat, there are no mountains in Gungahlin)
It was a mountain I tell you and I am The King :glare:
We got sick of you slowing us down so hit the Barton Hwy for some motor pacing. :rolleyes2:
